After a tip from the previous owner of the S80, I came across the Volvo RTI retrofit from Custom Xccessories.
Since it was a small company in Slovakia and I would have had to send in my RTI unit for the installation, I never went ahead with it at the time because I wasn’t entirely comfortable with that.
By chance, I recently visited the Custom Xccessories website and noticed that they now offer a DIY RTI retrofit as well.
Since I had been following Custom Xccessories on Instagram for quite some time and had seen that the company had built up a large following, I was convinced that it was not a scam but a serious enthusiast who had turned his hobby into a business. He developed the entire system himself.
I finally decided to take the plunge and order the RTI retrofit, and I absolutely do not regret it!
If you drive a lot using Waze, it is a huge upgrade. I am extremely happy with it. It instantly makes the car feel modern, and it genuinely looks like an OEM feature. Fantastic!

If you’re not particularly handy, you can also send in your RTI unit and have the retrofit installed for you.
