The Volkswagen LT35 failed its inspection due to worn ball joints. Since these ball joints are pressed into the control arms, it made more sense to replace the complete control arms rather than attempting to press the joints out separately.
It turned into a pleasant job on a summer afternoon. Using the Milwaukee Fuel, bolts that had been stuck for over 15 years came loose as if it were nothing at all—a seriously impressive tool.
All in all, a straightforward repair and another step toward keeping the LT35 safely on the road.
