The S80 started to hesitate badly and no longer had proper throttle response. After diagnosing the issue using VIDA, it became clear that the camshaft adjuster (VVT unit) had failed.
Fortunately, I was able to source a replacement camshaft adjuster from a scrapped S80 with low mileage. This made it possible to carry out the repair without excessive costs.
After replacing the camshaft adjuster, the S80 runs perfectly again, with smooth power delivery and proper throttle response restored.
