Volvo 340 Drivetrain Failure – Broken Driveshaft Diagnosis

The car had to be towed home, and on Monday we started the diagnosis. That didn’t take long: the issue turned out to be the driveshaft, which was torn on one side.

Luckily, we managed to find a replacement driveshaft the very same day, and the Volvo 340 is now back to driving as it should—mostly sideways.

At first, we feared a gearbox problem, but fortunately that wasn’t the case. Still, it did give us the opportunity to take a great photo of an open gearbox.
