Purchased in 2025 with 172,000 km, this is a vehicle you don’t come across very often.
Back in 2011, I was there in person when this Transporter was picked up brand new from the Volkswagen dealer, ready to begin its working life as a self-employed plumber’s van. From day one, its history has been completely known to me.
Long before officially becoming the owner, I had already driven at least 50,000 km with it myself. In 2014, we even used the Transporter to pick up an 850 T5, proving its reliability early on.
Up until 2017, I used the van countless times for plumbing jobs as well as private trips—and I was almost always behind the wheel. It has seen plenty of real-world use, not just short commutes.
Now, in 2025, retirement age has arrived for its original owner, and I’m taking over the Transporter to continue its story.
